SURVEY & INTERVENTION
- Price control of essential commodities is a key responsibility of the Enforcement Branch.
- Markets are regularly surveyed, especially during reports of price hikes.
- Joint visits with the State Task Force and departments like Agri-Marketing, Fisheries, and Animal Resources are conducted.
- Direct interactions with consumers and shopkeepers to address concerns.
- Retailers, Wholesalers, and Dealers are warned against hoarding and artificial price inflation.
- Strict vigilance and intelligence gathering along the supply chain.
- Ensures relief for citizens from undue financial burdens on essential goods.
- We are at present monitoring daily prices of 15 essential commodities across the districts, police districts and police commissionerates of the state through our EB Market Portal. This enables comparative analysis of price trends to facilitate timely interventions. The essential commodities are Rice, Atta, Mung Dal, Musur Dal, Mustard Oil, Onion, Potato, Salt, Sugar, Tomato, Wheat, Chicken, Egg, Katla Fish, and Rohu Fish.
